James Leon Blackwell

James Leon Blackwell was born March 02, 1944, in Winnsboro, Texas to the parentage of Leon Blackwell and Katie Buford. James was a graduate of McFarland High School. 
 Later he would join the United State Army serving his country for Twenty years, where he received many medals of accommodation. Medals such as National Defense Service, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, 6 O/S Bars, Meritorious Unit Commendation (1st OLC); Army Commendation medal, and a Purple Heart just to name a few. After serving his country he would begin a ten-year career with Rocky Flats Plant, in Denver, Colorado a U.S. manufacturing complex that produced nuclear weapons parts. 
On Tuesday, July 03, 2023, James left his earthly home to reunite with his family members who proceeded him, on this journey. Both his parents Leon Blackwell and Katie Buford, Sisters: Bobbie Jean Blackwell, Shirley Smith, and Billy Sue Blackwell, former wife Doris Faye Blackwell, and one son, Aamon Tyee Blackwell.
James, married Dorothy Marie Crawford of Mineola, Texas. During their marriage of thirteen years, three children were born: James Leon Blackwell, Aamon Tyree Blackwell, and Vicki Michelle Blackwell-Robison. Later he married Doris Faye Bradford, until her death after twenty-one years. To this union five children were born: Regenald Dewayne Blackwell, Erma Kay Blackwell, James Lee Blackwell, Katie Shauntae Davis Blackwell, Taja  Shauntrice Blackwell, and four stepchildren: Charles A. Mathis, Tammy R. Barnes, Darrell E. Mathis, and Tony E. Mathis. He would go on later to marry Barbara A. Blackwell in Alaska, married five years with no biological children they would raise and care for three stepchildren. 
James spent his final days of life with his wife of twenty-one years Stephanie Moore- Blackwell, raising and caring for his stepchildren: Senita Robinson and Ashley Moore, and a grandson Marshawn Moore. 
He is blessed to have a great multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins added to his legacy.
