Marsha Faye Rutherford

Marsha Faye Rutherford was born on December 26, 1952 in Big Sandy, Texas to Ivey Hugh and Mattie Faye Rutherford. She grew up in Hawkins and graduated from Hawkins High School. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at Texas Southern University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education. Upon graduating from college, Marsha continued to reside in Houston. She was employed at St. Luke’s Hospital as a Medical Records Technician. In 1985, she was blessed with her son Jeremy. Marsha later moved to Fort Worth Texas. She was employed for 15 years at John Peter Smith Hospital where she worked in medical records.

Marsha accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Marsha loved listening to gospel music, watching her soap operas, and talking on the phone with her family and friends.

Marsha received her angel wings on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the age of 66. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Faye Rutherford and father, Ivey Hugh Rutherford. Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving son, Jeremy Rutherford; twelve siblings: Gary Rutherford (Mavis), Edmond, OK; Frieda Morris (Jesse), Hawthorne, CA; Ronald Rutherford Sr. (Jackie), Hawkins, TX; Glenn Rutherford (Paula), Fort Worth, TX; Marilyn Lacy (Chester), Flint, TX; Stanley Rutherford, Houston, TX; Karen Lee (Victor), Corinth, TX; Stevie Rutherford, Hawkins, TX; Rhonda Odom (Joseph), Mesquite, TX; Lisa Turner (Darold), Palestine, TX; Darrell Rutherford, Hawkins, TX ; Amy Brinkley (Darvin), Krum, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews.
