Sandra Bigham Pipkins, born Thursday, September 4, 1952, in Mineola, Texas, to the parentage of Johnny and Ella Mae Bigham. Sandra was suddenly called home on April 8, 2025, at her residence leaving her family and friends devasted and heartbroken.
Sandra was baptized at an early age at East Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church finding fellowship and support in her community.
Sandra's educational journey began at Addie E. McFarland Elementary and High School. The foundation was set for a career dedicated to healthcare. She became a Certified CNA, Med Tech, and Physical Therapy Aide, showcasing her passion for helping those in need. Sandra led a life rich in compassion and dedication, not only to her family but also to her community through her work at Wood Memorial Nursing Home. Her commitment to caring for others earned her respect and admiration among her colleagues and the families of those she would serve.
Sandra was a devoted wife to Fred Pipkins and a loving mother. Together they welcomed one child into the world, who sadly preceded her in death. Despite this heartache, Sandra's heart grew even larger. She would later in life meet and marry Wardell Coleman, together they opened their hearts and home to two little girls, Deseria and Alma, raising them as their own, until his demise. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly reflected in her family life, contributing wonderfully to the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Ella Mae Bigham, her late husband Wardell Coleman, three sisters, Alice J. Bigham, Linda Dunlap, and Rosalita Trunnell, and four brothers, James Bigham, Johnny Paul Bigham, Sr., Charles Bigham, and Glen R. Bigham.
Left to cherish her memories, daughters, Alma Sinches of Gilmer, TX; and Deseria Miller (Desmond) of Lindale, TX; her brother, Jerry Don Bigham of San Antonio, TX; and her grandchildren, Terrence, Brianna, Adrianna, Joshua, Jeremiah, Desmond Jr., Sharon, and Brandon. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Lifelong friends and Coworkers.
Her legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A visitation will be held on April 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at London's Mortuary, located at 176 County Road 2503, Mineola, TX 75773. A funeral service will follow on April 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at East Chapel C.M.E. Church, located at 1011 S Pacific St, Mineola, TX 75773.
