Tommy Lewis Williams

Tommy Lewis Williams, a beloved member of the Mineola community, passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on October 2, 1951, in Mineola, Texas, Tommy's life was a testament to his faith, family, and friendship.

Tommy began his Christian Walk at an early age at East Chapel CME Church in Mineola. Tx.  His spiritual journey led him to Dallas Tx., where he joined Griggs M. Baptist Church, participated in the male chorus, and worked diligently as a janitor. After years in Dallas, he returned to his roots in Mineola, becoming an active member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where he engaged in numerous ministries that brought joy to many.

Professionally, Tommy had a varied career. He dedicated ten years of service at Tyler Pipe in Lindale, Texas, and also contributed his skills to the Mineola Bean Company. His journey took him to Dallas, where he worked at Mineyard Grocery Store and United Van Line Moving Company. Even outside of these roles, Tommy's passion for automobiles shone through in his detailing of cars and trucks.

Tommy is remembered not only for his commitment to hard work but also for his love of life. He had a distinctive flair for dressing sharply and relished sharing big meals with family and friends. His warm spirit and strong character touched the lives of all those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn McGee Tyler Tx.  Daughters Sheva Tennyson Hampton of Dallas, Tx., and Vanisa Roy of Tyler, Tx.; and sons Tristan Steward, Quinton Roy of Tyler Tx., and Delton Williams of Mineola Tx. Tommy is also survived by five sisters, Aita Faye Fuller, Jeanene Tave, Janice Simmons (Lee), all from Mineola, and Lannette Richards of Hawkin, Tx.; Jennifer Berry (Gary) Mineola Texas, One brother Michael Williams (Brenda) of Tyler Tx.; five grandchildren; and bonus children Shatondra Suruhere (Sam), Zaheyia Vickers (Brian), Chasity McGee, along with four grandchildren. Additionally, he cherished his God brothers Lafayette Staples, Robert Staples, and John Jones, as well as his God parents Earl and Lavenia Lee. His legacy continues through a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him fondly.

Tommy was preceded in death by his mother Mary Williams, father Wallace Williams, and brothers Alfred Williams, Wallace Williams Jr., and De Wanye Williams.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing at London’s Mortuary in Mineola on April 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral service will take place the following day, April 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Mineola.

Tommy Lewis Williams leaves behind a rich tapestry of relationships and memories, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
